Republic means when a country becomes free from the rule of kings, Queens, etc. And people are free to choose their leader and to take other decisions.

Cultural programs: On the day of Republic day many cultural programs are organized at different places, schools, colleges, etc. Cultural programs mainly include dancing, singing, speech, poetry. Etc. Many persons perform their dance on freedom songs by wearing their traditional dress. Some people also sing the songs on ‘Desh Bhakti’, some people give speeches, poetry on Republic day and show their love towards the country.

Sweets distribution: In many schools, and in many other places sweets are distributed to students, children, and other persons. They show their joy, pride by distributing the sweets to everyone. All people enjoy themselves a lot on this day.

Flag hoisting: flag hoisting ceremonies are organized at the event of Republic day. Flag hoisting is done by Prime Minister on the Red Fort in Delhi. And on other places, flag hoisting is done by the chief guest of the function. This flag hoisting ceremony shows the love of the country, and flag hoisting is done with full joy and pride.
